Week 31

How far along? 31 weeks,  3 days
Maternity clothes? mostly maternity clothes. I do find myself staring into my closet most mornings missing things that I would normally be wearing in the fall.  It is all so worth it, but I can't wait to get back into my regular clothes!
Stretch marks? nothing yet... holding strong for now.
Sleep: That doesn't really happen anymore but I am fine with it.  Some days are harder than others and I am definitely missing coffee.
Best moment this week:  Seeing Alison and her precious prego belly!  I also pretty much finished the nursery (that post will happen later this week).

Miss Anything? Content with my food restrictions now because it has been so long. I will be very excited for my first club sandwich in a couple of months.  Someone better be on standby with Jersey Mike's after Jack's arrival ;)
Movement: Moving a ton and I love it.
Food cravings: Fresh Mozzarella cheese and chocolate chip cookies... and yes, I have been seen eating them at the same time.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Last night was a pretty long period of me feeling sick. I just think I did a lot this weekend and my body was just over tired.

Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: Nothing yet and hoping labor signs stay far away for a while!
Symptoms: heartburn and fatigue. I feel like I am in the first trimester again, exhaustion is here in full force.
Belly Button in or out? out!
Wedding rings on or off? This morning I wasn't able to get them on without a bit of a struggle so I left them off :(  I am hoping that it is just a weird day and tomorrow I will be able to wear them again.  I feel naked without them.  I did read a blogpost last week about a woman who had to have her rings cut off because her fingers swelled so much one day. I can't cut those rings so I would rather be safe than sorry.
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy! Still emotional and hormonal though!

Looking forward to: Our maternity session next weekend and our hospital tour!

Alison came into town this weekend for her baby shower and it was so great seeing her!  She is pregnant with identical twin girls and due just 6 weeks after me.  Since they are twins they will likely be here early so Jack and both Baby Benos will be very close in age :)  Can't wait to get them all together in one place.  Love you, Al!

Friday I took the day off to get things done around the house and in the nursery. Although I had a really productive day, I think I am going to have a hard time stepping away from work 100% while on maternity leave.  I found myself answering emails more than I would like to admit and I just couldn't stop looking!  I know I will be extremely busy with a newborn but I still am not sure I will be able to turn it off for 12 weeks.  I guess only time will tell.

Here are some pictures from Alison's shower this weekend!

30 weeks!

How far along? 30 weeks,  4 days
Maternity clothes? mostly my maternity clothes a few regular items mixed in
Stretch marks? nothing yet... I don't really know where the extra skin is going to come from in the next 9 weeks though!
Sleep: I sure do miss it!
Best moment this week:  Baby shower with family and friends! It was such a fun day and baby got some really cute stuff!

Miss Anything? Due to the lack of sleep and fatigue, I am really missing coffee these days.
Movement: He moves constantly!  I got a few videos this week of him bouncing around.  My favorite thing about being pregnant is feeling him move.
Food cravings: Jalapeno chips are my favorite this week!
Anything making you queasy or sick: nope :)

Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: No, thank goodness! Still hoping they stay far away for a while!
Symptoms: heartburn and fatigue.  I feel like I am in the first trimester again, exhaustion is
Belly Button in or out? out! My lovely husband thinks it is hilarious :D
Wedding rings on or off? on... but every morning I struggle to get them on and it is a battle to get them off in the evenings. I think I might have to put them away for a while pretty soon :(
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy! Still emotional and hormonal though!

Looking forward to: A day off on Friday to get things done around the house and in the nursery!  Can't wait to have it all finished.

Less than 10 weeks to go until baby's due date!  Time is really starting to pass quickly.  As much as I love being pregnant, I am so excited to get to December and to meet our baby boy!  Some days it still feels too good to be true that we will be welcoming a child into the world so soon.

We had our other baby shower this past weekend and it was such a great afternoon.  I feel so thankful to have so many wonderful people in our lives that are going to be a part of this baby's life.  He is definitely a lucky little guy!  I appreciate ll of the love and support so much.

Here is a quick pick Jack took last night.  I am definitely looking really tired these days, but the bump is growing!

29 weeks!

How far along? 29 weeks, 3 days
Maternity clothes? mostly my maternity clothes a few regular items mixed in
Stretch marks? not yet!
Sleep: Not great.  I typically wake up once and hour.  It's all worth it though and baby is just prepping me for once he is here! At least I will be sort of used to it :)
Best moment this week:  seeing baby at an ultrasound last week and also had a baby shower hosted by Katie.  It was such a fun day and I loved spending time with everyone.  Jack is definitely one loved little boy already!

Miss Anything? Nothing out of the norm...
Movement: He loves to squirm around all day.  I love that now I can feel actual body parts when he stretches and moves around.
Food cravings: Still loving egg salad.  Also really wanting hummus and cream cheese. on anything.
Anything making you queasy or sick: not really!

Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: No, thank goodness! hoping they stay far away for a while!
Symptoms: heartburn and headaches but learning to live with both.
Belly Button in or out? out.  Several people have commented on how it can be seen through my shirt.
Wedding rings on or off? on... but wondering if I will be able to wear them for the next 10
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy.. although the random mood swings are happening a bit more frequently. Crying is something that can occur at any second for me!  Happy/Sad, doesn't matter! I just cry over nothing!

Looking forward to: Continuing to get Jack's nursery set up and also my 2nd (and last) baby shower this upcoming weekend!

This past week was one of the best ones I have had during this pregnancy!  Just so many happy things happening in my family and so much to look forward to.  On Wednesday, I had an appointment with the perinatal specialist to check on baby and make sure everything is looking good and he is healthy.  Everything looks perfect and he is doing great :)  At 28weeks 4 days, Baby Greene is measuring about 12 days ahead and weighing around 3 lbs., 4 oz!  The doctor turned on the 3D ultrasound at the end and the second I saw his sweet little face the tears started rolling.  It was just so amazing to see him and watch him yawn and stretch.  He is so perfect.  Chunky little cheeks already and definitely is going to look like his handsome daddy.

On Saturday, Jack and I spent the afternoon running errands and having an impromptu lunch date.  Him and I have been spending so much time talking about our son and the future. I am so blessed to have him by my side through this journey and I absolutely cannot wait to see him in action as a dad.  It is also really cute to see him shop for baby things.  He picks something out everywhere we go and I can't wait to get this baby into some of the clothes his dad has picked for him.

Sunday, I had my first shower, hosted by Katie!  It was such an amazing day.  There were a ton of people there so I felt like my head was spinning a bit trying to make time to talk to everyone, but it was so worth it. For those of you who were at my shower, thank you again!  It was definitely a day I won't soon forget.

Here are some pictures! I don't have many on my computer because most were taken with a different camera.

28 Weeks

How far along? 28 weeks, 4 days
Maternity clothes? mostly my maternity clothes a few regular items mixed in

Stretch marks? not yet!
Sleep: Last night I had the most amazing night of sleep for some reason! I went to bed around 9:30 and Jack came to bed an hour later.  I thought I had slept through the night and that he was getting up to go to work!  I was SO happy that I got to go back to bed for several more hours :)
Best moment this week: officially into the third trimester - I can't express how excited I am to meet my sweet baby boy

Miss Anything? Pumpkin beer! Jack bought some Dogfish Head Punkin Ale this weekend and we are going to hide it away for once baby is born. It won't be in stores by then so I am so excited!Movement: all the time, especially at night.
Food cravings: Starting to want chocolate!  First time in the pregnancy that I have craved it but it is delicious! I am also craving egg salad constantly.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really!  Still hate the smell of peanut butter but that's about it!
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: No, thank goodness!

Symptoms: Heartburn has started! Thank you to Aunt Katie for running out for me last week to get some Tums.  I have never needed them in my life, but they sure do work!
Belly Button in or out? out.  Can totally see it through my shirt now.
Wedding rings on or off? on... but some days I struggle to get them off before bed.
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy.. although the random mood swings are happening a bit more frequently. I definitely cried to a helpdesk technician on the phone at work today. He was talking me through fixing an issue (that never got fixed) and I was frustrated and cried! I'm officially HORMONAL!
Looking forward to: My first shower this weekend :)  I can't wait to see so many of my closest friends and celebrate this blessing on the way!

Here are some pictures from Sunday.  Please remember that horizontal stripes do make the bump look larger than it actually is (I hope!).

27 Weeks!

How far along? 27weeks, 4 days
Baby is as big as a: Head of cauliflower!  Since he was almost 2 pounds 3 weeks ago, I am sure he is well over that now.

Maternity clothes? Been loving my maternity jeans.  I don't know how I will ever go back to pants that don't have the amazing fabric panel that fits so nicely over my belly!
Stretch marks? Nothing yet...
Sleep: Between my inability to get comfortable and the crazy dreams nightmares I have been having, sleep is just not that great.  I do a lot of catching up when the weekends roll around.
Best moment this week:  Getting out of the house with Jack and attending a beautiful wedding on Saturday night.  Jamie and Ben's wedding was gorgeous and although I couldn't really get on the dance floor much, it was a fun night out.  Jack looks so handsome in a suit so I welcome any opportunity to see him get dressed up :) We have also been getting some wonderful pre-fall weather here in RIC and it is AMAZING.  I am so excited for cooler temperatures.  It is another sign that our baby will be here in a few short months!
Miss Anything? same as usual.  I have also seen some Pumpkin ales floating around the grocery store which is a tease.
Movement: Moving a ton.  I love laying down and watching him bounce around in there.  I have also felt what seem to be a little butt as well as feet!  It is crazy that I am starting to be able to distinguish body parts.

Food cravings:  coffee this week!  Thank goodness for decaf.  I have been having a cup of decaf each morning and it is so delicious.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling good!
Gender : Boy!!
Belly Button in or out? out.
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody : Happy!

Looking forward to: Our glider should be delivered this weekend and I found someone to make our curtains so I just need to pick a fabric. I am so anxious for his room to be finished. 12 weeks just doesn't seem like very long and I want to be sure we are ready for him!

I'll leave you with a picture from the wedding this weekend.

26 weeks!

How far along? 26 weeks, 4 days
Baby is as big as a: Head of lettuce!  Approx 12-14 inches long and a little over 2 pounds!  I can definitely feel him getting bigger everyday.

Maternity clothes? Since I have been working from home, I have lived in Jack's pajama pants and tank tops, which is awesome!  I did get a shipment of some cute tunics and leggings that I am excited to wear when the weather gets cooler.
Stretch marks?  Nothing yet... I am starting to notice what I believe is linea negra (the dark line that goes down the middle of the stomach).  It is so strange!
Sleep: Sleep? That is a word of the past around here.  Having a really hard time getting comfortable.  It's all worth it though :D
Best moment this week:  I got out of the house on Saturday morning and Jack and I ordered the glider from PB Kids and also took one of our paintings from Thailand to get framed for the baby's room.  We should have both things in 2 weeks and I can't wait.  The painting was actually done by an elephant named Peter while we were at the Elephant Stay.  It is about time we get it framed and on the wall in our home!
Miss Anything? lunch meat and sleeping on my back!
Movement: He moves all of the time.  Had a few quiet days last week but from what I understand babies tend to move less during growth spurts so maybe he was just putting some weight on!  Today my entire stomach changed shape and I felt what had to be a precious little behind pressing into my stomach.  Feeling him move around is the best thing ever!  It will never get old.
Food cravings:  Still loving all things sour.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really!  Feeling good!
Gender : Boy!!
Belly Button in or out? out.  totally out.
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody :  Happy!

Looking forward to: Working on the nursery more in the coming weeks.

The last week has been a lot of the same as last week!  A lot of relaxation and couch/bed time.  I am starting to learn my limits for activity, which is good.  I also have been to the office a few times in the last week and it is a great change of scenery.  I have to admit, I feel better at home, but sometimes I just need to get out of the house.

One thing that completely bummed me out was that my great grandmother passed away last week in New York and I wasn't able to go to the funeral. It was just too long of a car ride and I didn't want to risk being so far away from home.  Grandma Olden was almost 99 years old and had an amazing life and family.  She had 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren!  It is comforting to know that she has been reunited with the love of her life in Heaven.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with the doctor for a check up and the dreaded glucose test!  Really hoping gestational diabetes is not an issue with this girl!  Fingers crossed :)

I will leave you with some bump pics as well as a couple of nursery pics.  Please keep in mind that the nursery is FAR from done.  Still need lighting, wall art, window treatments, etc.

25 Week Update

I don't have much to say because I have been on bed rest for the entire week so my life has consisted or work, television, reading, and sleep.  Thankfully work has been busy so the days go by quickly.  Can't wait for my appointment next week to see if I can start showing my face again.  By Friday I was starting to go stir crazy so Jack and I went to the movies.  It was great to get out of the house and the theatre was pretty empty so I stretched out across several chairs and had my feet propped up.  On Sunday, Jack and I went to my parent's house for a cookout and although it was great to see all of the family, I was not feeling good at all by the time we got home and Labor Day has consisted of a lot of naps!  Thanks for all of your love and support everyone :)  We know that this baby is so blessed to have so many people who already care about him so much!

How far along? 25 weeks, 3 days
Baby is as big as a: Papaya!  He is about 13-14 inches long and weighs around 2 pounds.  We had an ultrasound last week and the estimated him to be about 1 lb, 11-14oz.  By now he has to be over 2 pounds!
Maternity clothes? All Maternity clothes.  I have about 5 dresses that will still work, but they are not going to fit for much longer.  I am a little worried about my options for fall.  Guess it's time for some online shopping!
Stretch marks?  nope
Sleep: Awful, but I am used to it at this point.  I think it is just baby's way of preparing me for what it is to come once he is here.
Best moment this week: Seeing Baby G!
Miss Anything? still missing lunch meat.
Movement: Pretty consistent.  I always panic when he goes an hour or two without moving, but I need to remind myself that he has to sleep too!
Food cravings:  I went from orange juice making me sick to craving it, so that is strange.  I also have been craving triscuits and grapes.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I am still having waves of sickness on and off, but nothing terrible.
Gender : Boy!!

Belly Button in or out? Out!
Wedding rings on or off? On, for now.
Happy or Moody : Happy and Anxious! I know I shouldn't wish this time away but I am SO ready for December.
Looking forward to: Holding my baby boy in about 15 weeks.  With that said, a message to my son: "STAY PUT for a while!"  :)
