20 Weeks!

It is so crazy to think that in about 20 weeks we will be welcoming our precious baby boy into the world!  The past 8 weeks have flown by and I am very anxious/excited to get working on the nursery and preparing our home and our lives for our new addition.

Jack went shopping for baby clothes alone and came back with some really cute stuff, including a precious little tracksuit that makes me melt because it is the cutest, smallest thing ever!  He is so excited about becoming a dad.  I love watching him talk to people about the pregnancy and how much he is looking forward to meeting our son.

In other news, we had our 20 week ultrasound today!  Baby is looking great :)  They checked everything from his brain to his toes.  He was moving all over the place though so the ultrasound technician had trouble getting pictures of everything she needed.  Although she was able to see everything she was supposed to, Baby Jack refused to sit still so I get to go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound and more pictures.  I am pretty excited about that.  One thing that shocked us a bit is that he is BIG!  Measuring 8 days ahead and weighs almost 1 pound already!  The doctor was very happy with the appointment and said she wouldn't be surprised if he came closer to 12/6 instead of the 14th.  So that leaves us about 4 months.  AHH!

How far along? 20 weeks, 3 days.  Halfway mark :)
Baby is as big as a: small cantaloupe. Ultrasound confirmed he is about 14 ounces.  Getting so big :)
Maternity clothes? yes, and still mixed with some regular clothes as well.  Very proud of myself for fitting into pre-pregnancy pants today with the help of a belly band.
Stretch marks? not yet.  Hoping they never happen.
Sleep: Ehh, let's just say I have slept better.  I definitely wake up to pee 2-3 times a night and also have this weird internal alarm clock that wakes me up around 4 AM every morning.
Best moment this week:  Jack picked up the crib from PB kids this week! I can't wait until we get our new floors so we can put it together.
Miss Anything?   Lunch meat, as always.  I also miss bacon (this one is up for debate on whether or not it is ok to eat, so I am just avoiding to be safe). Oh, and I am really missing barre classes.  Walking is great, but I miss those intense workouts.
Movement: So much!  He has been quiet for the past couple of days but I feel him pretty often.  Started with small flutters and now I can feel actual kicks.  Can't wait for Jack to be able to feel him.  He waits so patiently with his hand on my belly.
Food cravings:  I had a HUGE craving for vanilla icecream and sprinkles this weekend.  Jack was working and when he came home, he had the biggest cone of icecream I have ever seen and it was COVERED in sprinkles. Needless to say, I only ate about 1/3 of it and then Jack ate the rest.  He is benefiting from the cravings as well!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still orange juice most of the time.
Have you started to show yet: yes, most definitely.
Gender prediction: It's a Boy :)

Belly Button in or out? headin' out
Wedding rings on or off? on, for now...
Happy or Moody :  happy happy happy
Looking forward to:  Starting to get his nursery together!

19 week update!

How far along? 19 weeks, almost halfway there!
Baby is as big as a: Mango! Baby G weighs around 8.5 ounces and is 6 inches long :)
Maternity clothes? I'm still able to get away with some of my regular clothes and mixing in some maternity stuff as well.
Stretch marks? not yet.
Sleep: Finally bought a pregnancy pillow.  Best. purchase. ever.
Best moment this week: Well, it was a little over a week ago, but finding out Baby G is a boy was pretty awesome!
Miss Anything? pretty content but still missing lunch meat.
Movement: Yes!  at least point I know I have felt him pretty regularly.  At least once a day.  I just have to be really still and it is usually after I eat.  It is pretty faint so Jack cant feel him yet, but I can't wait for the movements to become stronger and more regular.
Food cravings: salty snacks.  And I was loving pancakes on vacation... and also scrambled eggs with cheese.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Orange juice... that one came out of nowhere.
Have you started to show yet: Yep!
Gender prediction: My prediction was right!!! Baby G is a boy and wasn't shy to show us his boy parts.  So exciting to know so we can start planning and shopping!!!!

Belly Button in or out? In... but Jack likes to call it a pancake because it is pretty flat these days.
Wedding rings on or off? On. The heat is making them pretty snug thought so I wore a cheap fake band on vacation this week.
Happy or Moody : happy.  Just feeling blessed.
Looking forward to: Feeling more movement!

Jack and I just got back from our vacation in Turks and Caicos and it was an absolutely amazing trip!  We had so much fun on the beach, snorkeling, eating great food, and just hanging out together.  I am so glad we were able to spend a whole week together with no distractions.  We spent a lot of time day dreaming and talking about our baby boy.  It is hard to believe that we are almost halfway through the pregnancy and this Christmas we will be spending time with our baby (the best Christmas gift of all time).  Here are some pictures from our trip :)

We also spent 4th of July in Irvington at Lucy's river house!  It was so fun to hang out with great friends, eat good food, swim in the pool and avoid the heat.

Please excuted my tired face in the pictures below... no power, no sleep, no makeup and baby making took a toll on me this weekend.

In other news... my doctor had scheduled our 20 week ultrasound for Monday, July 30th... I will actually be 20+weeks at that point and just couldn't that long to find out if Baby G is a boy or girl.  Jack is also dying to know so today I set an appointment at a local 3d imaging center to find out.  So if baby cooperates we will know next Thursday!!!!!!!!
