9 months!

I am so late on this post.  Things have been INSANE at work and at home and I have totally neglected my little blog.  The updates this month will include things that Jack has been doing since his 9 month birthday as well, not just the month leading up, because I can't remember what happened when and I did a poor job of documenting exact dates this time around.

      Height: 29.5 inches (75-80%)
Weight: 21 lbs, 11 oz. as of September 12 (75-80%)
Clothes: 9-12 month

EATING
Jack loves feeding himself.  We have started ordering him a small side at restaurants and he is getting more table food; loves eating with us.  Some of his favorite things to feed himself are potatoes (white and sweet), cooked carrots, pancakes, bread, crackers, noodles, cheese, bananas and avocados. We are slowly adding more and more two his diet, but he seems to love everything we give him.

PLAY and MOBILITY
Jack is crawling at lightning speed and still pulling up on everything.  He has started cruising around furniture and will walk with assistance (when he feels like it).  We have also caught him standing with no assistance a few times, but it doesn't last long and I am fine with that.  I am not quite ready for a walker.  I am having a hard time accepting the fact that our guy is growing up so fast! Some of Jack's favorite toys include his drum and anything that makes noise.  He is also really enjoying books.  The beagles are his favorite jungle gym. He is constantly crawling over them and tugging on their ears and tails.  We are lucky to have such patient pups.

 TEETHING
8 teeth now!  This child will have a mouth full by the time he is 1.
Other updates!
Waving "hi" and "bye" is Jack's favorite new trick.  At target the other day he waved to every person we passed and gave the biggest grins.  He is a ham.
Another new thing Jack does is shaking his head "no".  His teachers told me that he shakes his head whenever another baby in the room is being told "no" and jack just smiles the whole time.  It is pretty funny.  He also was shaking his head no at me over and over at swim lessons this week as I was counting down to pulling him into the water.  It was hilarious because the closer I got to "3", the more he would shake his head.  Unfortunately for him, I still pulled him into the pool, but he didn't seem to mind once he was in :)
Jack giggles constantly!  It used to be hard work to get him to laugh, but now he laughs all of the time.  At himself, at me, at the dogs, television, when he is being tickled... the list of things that make him laugh is endless.
Sleep has been wonderful!  We returned from vacation a week ago and Jack sleeps in his crib from 8:00 PM until about 6:00 AM every morning.  He will sometimes stir and fuss in the middle of the night but he quickly puts himself back to sleep.  Daddy usually brings him into bed with me at 6:00 when he goes to work and the two of us catch a little snooze together before we wake up for the day.  I live for those early morning snuggles.

My dear friend Alison came home to visit a few weeks ago with her twin girls who are just 2 days older than Jack.  It was so wonderful finally getting my hands on those sweet first and Jack enjoyed meeting some new girlfriends.

Here is a picture of Jack with the twins (Audrey and Victoria) and Henley. They are all 2 weeks apart.
