Hudson- 5 and 6 Months

Life with 2 boys is super busy! We are so thankful for these sweet babies of ours.  Here is the latest on Hudson. I missed his 5 month update so we will join them together.

 At 6 months...

STATS
Height: Nurse said 27 inches but you were rolling all
over the table so mama is convinced you are taller!
Weight: 19 lbs, 2 oz (80%)
Clothes: 6-9 month, 9 month
Huddy is healthy and growing like a weed.  The rolls on his thighs and arms are adorable and perfect. I am pretty sure he gets no less and 1000 kisses a day. He laughs so much and is so ticklish.  He cracks up any time we tickle him, especially his neck and thighs. He also loves watching his big brother and crawls to him and gets in his lap often. It is the sweetest thing ever.  This month Jack Jack has been very interested in holding Hudson and loves to talk to him and make him smile. I love watching their relationship blossom.  It makes us so happy.
PERSONALITY
Hudson continues to be the happiest, sweetest baby.  He is always smiling and we can literally take him anywhere. He loves to babble and coo and recently started saying "dada".  Daddy isn't convinced that it is on purpose but it sounds like it to me! He is also working on his "mmm" sounds so I am hoping to hear "mama" soon.  The teachers at daycare are always commenting on how sweet natured he is. He loves watching the big kids and enjoys entertaining anyone who will watch him.  He kicks and coos and laughs whenever he has someones attention. It is so sweet.

SLEEP
Nights are still a bit of a challenge around here.  Hudson is up most nights at least twice. He is still sleeping in our room at night. He naps wonderfully in his crib during the day but seems to have some separation issues at night so we are slowly working on it. I can't really complain about the late night snuggles though. It is something I know I will miss when he gets older.
EATING
Feeding lately can get quite interesting if Hudson gets distracted by anything.  I tend to try and feed him in a quiet area of the house because otherwise he has little interest.  He is a nosey little guy and doesn't want to miss a thing! This month we started to introduce solid foods. At first, he wasn't so into them but it has quickly changed and he LOVES to eat.  So far he has had butternut squash, bananas, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, pears and mangoes.  He seems to love it all!
PLAY
Hudson is mastering sitting up so he loves to play with any toys that he can easily hold and shake up and down.  He also loves balls, his brother's little people tractor, his jumperoo and his sophie the giraffe and monkey teether.  EVERYTHING goes straight in his mouth. He also loves his soft blocks and his big brother's foam letters and numbers.  Other favorite things right now include giving huge, wet open mouth kisses, kicking his feet frantically while on his back and in the bath.  Bath time is SO much fun.  Hudson absolutely loves watching his brother.  Jack Jack can always get the best giggles out of him.
MOBILITY
Hudson is full on crawling and has been for a couple of weeks now.  He is having so much fun discovering each room of the house and loves following us around.  It is so bittersweet watching him hit these milestones so early.  He also is starting to pull up here and there although not consistently.  Daddy is convinced he is going to walk really early. I guess only time will tell!
TEETHING
No Teeth at 6 months but they are on their way!

DC Trip

This post is a couple of months late but I wanted to include photos of our quick trip to DC that we took in January.  I had my company holiday party up there and rather than leave the boys behind, we went as a family :)  We spent the (very cold) afternoon at the zoo where Jack had a blast! He really loved watching the lions and gorillas.  The elephants were mama's favorites (of course).  Little Huddy stayed strapped to me the entire time and Jack loved riding on his daddy's shoulders throughout the zoo.  Several times that weekend he saw men with white beards and would yell "Hi, Santa!!!".  It had only been a couple of weeks since Christmas and he was still in the spirit.  It was so funny.

Daddy stayed in the hotel room while I went down to my holiday party for a few hours. Jack Jack had a blast jumping on the bed, bathing in the huge tub and running around the room.  It was very interesting trying to sleep with both boys in the room with us.  Jack Jack had no interest in sleeping in a pack and play when a huge king size bed with mom and dad was 10 feet away.  Needless to say, he rolled all over our bed all night long and was whispering and giggling way too early the next morning.  We ordered room service breakfast and then hit the road to head back home. It was a quick trip but was really fun to be together.

He spotted Santa at lunch :)

Salt and peppering his Cheerios :)
