Jack Lately...

Our big boy is almost 2.5!  It really is hard to believe.  He is growing so fast! He is talking up a storm and learning so many new things every day.  He surprises us constantly with the things he says and knows.

  • He absolutely loves his baby brother and proudly says "That's my brudder".
  • Counts to 30 when he feels like it, but most of the time stops around 14 and celebrates with a "YAYYY!"
  • Sings his ABCs in the cutest way every and repeats some letters and I love it so much.
  • Turtle is "Turble"
  • He loves to yell "Yisten to me!" and the other day in the car, he turned it into a song, singing "Listen to me, listen to me mama and daddy".  He gets the singing from his dad, who if you know him well, loves to sing anything and everything he is reading and saying. ha!
  • The other day he was poking at Hudson's feet and saying "Huddd'ys feet are SO cute, mama!"
  • He loves playing hide and seek and closes his eyes so tight (for approximately 5 seconds) before he runs to find you.
  • He is constantly asking "What are you dooonin (doing)?" I love it so much the way he says it.  He has started saying it correctly the past few days and I not-so-secretly miss the way he was saying it before.
  • If I ask if he is sleepy he will answer with "no, I fine. I awake".  He loves to answer "no, I fine" whenever we ask him to do something he doesn't want to do.
  • He ALWAYS is asking "why" for everything, and recently I asked him "Why?" and he responded with "because I said so". I'm in trouble.
  • Jack caught his first fish this month and went on his first boat ride.  Papa in Florida bought the family a pontoon boat and it is being kept on Lake Anna. It has been so much fun and Jack loves fishing with daddy and Pop!
  • Jack is obsessed with animals!  We have been taking trips to the park and went to the Richmond zoo this month.  He is always asking to "go see animals!!".
  • Jack can identify all of his letters and make their sounds. He can also identify numbers (1-10).  He loves playing with his letter and number toys and showing off his skills.
  • Jack is still loving anything involving water! He is always playing in the sprinkler and even dove into the lake from a float and thought it was hilarious and so fun!  He is a little fish.
  • Peeing on the potty at school and lots at home. Still wearing diapers but we are starting to transition to big boy underwear and plan to dedicate a long weekend in the next couple of weeks to get him potty trained.
  • We are also moving him to a big boy bed.
Lots of huge changes and things happening for our Jack and it is so bittersweet watching him grow so quickly.  It is such a fun adventure with him and we cannot get enough!

Hudson is 7 Months Old!

STATS
Weight: 20.5 lbs as of April 26
Clothes: 6-9 month, 9 month

EATING

Hudson is loving meal time! He loves holding food pouches and feeding himself. He gets very upset if we don't move fast enough between bites. SO far he has had butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, avocado, apples, mangoes, peaches, nectarines, bananas, green beans, broccoli and spinach! Meal time is his favorite :)  He is now eating 2 solid meals a day.

PLAY
Hudson loves his dogs and his brother! They have become a huge source of entertainment in our house. Hudson also loves swinging on our new swing set in the backyard.  He has even fallen asleep out there :)  He is also loving anything that makes noise or lights up and if something doesn't make noise, he just bangs two toys together to make noise himself.  The dog bowls are loud and so entertaining!

MOBILITY
Hudson has been crawling for a while now. He is also pulling up on everything. He is now balancing and holding on with one hand.  Too FAST!  He is keeping us on his toes for sure.
TEETHING
Just one bottom tooth and I find it absolutely irresistible.  I have no idea when he will get more but that smile with just one tiny tooth sticking out is pretty adorable.

Other updates!
"dada" is constantly being said.  He loves to babble and growl. He thinks it is so funny with his big brother mimics him.
Hudson took his first big boy bath this month without the baby tub!  He is still a little unsteady on the slick tub but he loves it!  He splashes and kicks the entire time and loves it so much.
Sleep has been incredible!  Hudson has been in his crib every night and usually only wakes up once to eat. Sometimes he sleeps straight through. We all feel rested and he is so happy in his crib.
