24 weeks!

What a week this has been.  I started out last Sunday feeling pretty good. Jack was working so I decided to run a bunch of errands and get some things done around the house.  Everything was going great until I made it about halfway through my errands and starting feeling like my stomach was in a huge knot.  I didn't think much of it until the next day when it was still happening on and off.  I called the nurse who told me to come in that afternoon to get checked out (insert WORRYING).  The appointment went fairly well (ultrasound looked great and baby's heartbeat was strong).  It took a bit of a turn when they ran a test to see if I am at risk to go into labor in the next two weeks and it came back positive!  That is clearly not good at 23+ weeks gestation.  The doctor wasn't super concerned since the other stuff looked good, but told me to take it easy until the next appointment.  I worked from home all week, ended back at the doctor's office on Friday in a lot of pain and they told me bedrest was in order until Tuesday (tomorrow).  The pain and cramps definitely seem to get better when I am in a laying position.  I am just hoping for great news tomorrow.  Although I am able to work from home, I miss being at the office and seeing people.  Being on the couch for a week straight is not easy.  However, I will do whatever it takes to keep this baby safe and healthy.  It is all worth it.  Please send positive thoughts at prayers that Baby G stays put for a long time and comes out when he is big and healthy enough!

I also want to take a second to say how incredibly blessed I am to have Jack as a husband.  I have been feeling kind of lonely and scared for the past week and he has been so amazing at calming my nerves and taking good care of me.  I love when he stops what he is doing and walks over to my stomach to say "stay put baby!" to my belly and give it a kiss before continuing on with whatever he was doing.  He is going to be such a sweet daddy.

How far along? 24 weeks, 3 days
Baby is as big as a: According to my app, baby is as long as a banana!  We aren't sure about weight but I am hoping they can give us an estimate tomorrow at our ultrasound.
Maternity clothes? yes.  Most of my regular clothes are being pushed to the back of the closet.
Stretch marks? no, thank goodness.  My mom says she didn't get them with me, so I am hoping I take after her.
Sleep: I've learned that not sleeping well is my new normal so I am not complaining.  Thank goodness for the snoogle pillow and my sweet husband for waking me up at night when I am on my back.
Best moment this week:  Lots of movement, which has brought some peace of mind through all of the craziness.
Miss Anything? lunch meat. always.
Movement:  All of the time!
Food cravings:  anything sour.  Meg and Holly brought me a whole bag of sour goodness over the weekend and I am loving it.  I also really crazy apples and watermelon.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Is it strange that I think this pregnancy is making me have a mild case of claustrophobia? If I am in a really small room or crowded with a bunch of people, I start to feel really queasy and my palms get sweaty.  It is not something that ever happened to me before.
Gender : Boy :)

Belly Button in or out? pretty much out. So long innie, hope to see you again in a few months.
Wedding rings on or off? on and tight. This heat does not help.
Happy or Moody : happy!  Just ready for our appointment tomorrow and hoping we get great news about baby Greene being content and happy and nowhere near ready to make his appearance!
Looking forward to:  Working on the nursery and being in the 3rd trimester in just a few weeks!

22 Week Update!

This week was such a whirlwind.  We have so many projects going on at the house and I can't wait until it is all complete.  I keep telling Jack that we need to have everything done (not just baby stuff) by 35 weeks so that only gives us 12 weeks!  Time is starting to fly by.

MY DUE DATE IS EXACTLY 4 Months from today!

How far along? 22 weeks, 4 days
Baby is as big as a: I downloaded a "Dad App" that does not compare the baby to fruit because Jack didn't love the food comparisons.  So this week, according to the daddy app, baby is the size of an overinflated football.  Over a pound now!
Maternity clothes? yes, and still mixed with some regular clothes as well but I struggle every morning to find something to wear.
Stretch marks? nope!
Sleep: not great.  My back hurts from being on my side all night. I have scheduled a prenatal massage for tonight so I am hoping that helps a bit.
Best moment this week:  So much movement!  Last night we actually saw the baby moving from the outside and that was awesome.
Miss Anything? sleeping on my back and I have been craving cold subs, which stinks.
Movement: yes! He moves all day long for the most part.  He really starts to move when Jack is laughing and when I sit hunched over. I think it is his way of telling me to sit back and give him some space!
Food cravings:  I am back on sour stuff. Jack made a special trip to a 7 eleven last night to get me shock tarts.  I ate about 5 of them and the baby started moving around like crazy.  I think he likes it as much as his momma does ;)
Anything making you queasy or sick: feeling good this week.  Just starving all of the time and I start to feel sick if I wait too long between meals.
Have you started to show yet: I think I should just remove this question. I get asked about my due date everywhere I go so I am thinking it is pretty obvious.
Gender prediction: Boy :)

Belly Button in or out? pretty much out.  So long innie, hope to see you again in a few months.
Wedding rings on or off? on and tight.  This heat does not help.
Happy or Moody : happy!
Looking forward to:  Our flooring was done last weekend thanks to the best cousins ever! The baby room is now only filled with baby things and I can't wait for it to start coming together.  The bedding should be in this week so I am hoping to post some pictures of the progress soon!

Here are some pictures of our floors in progress and a self belly pic since Jack and I were too busy this weekend and forgot.

Baby Growth!

Sometimes it is hard to believe that there is a 1 pound baby in my belly.  Other times, when he is moving around or when I am trying to sleep, it feels like I have a 6 pound baby in there! The next 4 months are going to be so much fun. I love watching and feeling him grow.  I thought I would share some of the pictures with you so you can see just how far he has come in 21+ weeks.  Can't wait to see our little guy again in a few weeks!!

Just had to be sure, so I used a lot of these :) Loved watching the line grow darker everyday.

 Little nugget at 8 weeks!

13 weeks and looking like an actual baby!

Last week at our 20 week appointment and confirmed boy!

21 Weeks

How far along? 21 weeks, 3 days.
Baby is as big as a: baby is the length of a banana!
Maternity clothes? yes, and still mixed with some regular clothes as well.  Thank goodness for cotton dresses.
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep: getting worse... going to bed as early as possible every night to try and get a decent amount of sleep.
Best moment this week:  feeling baby kick from the outside :)  Jack still hasn't felt him yet though.
Miss Anything? sleeping on my back!
Movement:  yes! feeling it more and more each day.  I am starting to figure out his sleep patterns too.  He tends to be most active mid-afternoon and late at night.
Food cravings:  yesterday I had my first weird craving and I am almost ashamed to say what it was.   My snack consisted of a glass of chocolate skim milk and some hot fries.  Yes, at the same time.  Not sure where that came from but I wanted it...and it was delicious.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I have been getting random waves of nausea occasionally throughout the day.  Feels like the first trimester again!
Have you started to show yet: yes.
Gender prediction: It's a Boy :)

Belly Button in or out? pancake belly button is in full force.
Wedding rings on or off? on, for now...
Happy or Moody :  happy!
Looking forward to:  getting our new flooring throughout the whole house!  Once that is done, we will start getting the nursery together.  Right now it is just a dresser in the middle of the room and a crib in a box.

Awful pictures from Sunday night.  Definitely looking tired and the outfit choice was because I needed something loose and comfortable.  Tight clothing on a hot day isn't fun while pregnant!

Looking down at a jealous pup that wanted in the picture...our dogs are spoiled.

Saturday night we stopped by Meg's house for a visit and some of Baby J's aunties got to feel him move for the first time (he seems to always stop the second Jack puts his hand on my belly!)
