They grow up so fast...
We have had so much fun with this guy, especially lately. He is really starting to figure things out and has such an inquisitive little personality. We get daily reports from daycare that fill us in on the fun things he does on a daily basis and we get lots of play time in the mornings, nights, and weekends :)
Jack is starting to figure out how to wave "hi" and "bye". He did it for the first time on Saturday night when my sister was saying bye to him from the street, and then again on Sunday when our friend Jamie was waving to him from across the room. It is still pretty sporadic but he does it at the appropriate times so we can tell it is intentional.
Balls are his new favorite toy! Jack bought him a miniature basketball and he loves pushing it back and forth with him across the living room. At daycare the other day the teacher said that he pushed a ball to the wall and realized it came back to him, so he continued to push it against the wall again and again for about 10 minutes and was smiling the entire time.
Jack's top 4 teeth have been coming in for a few weeks now, but the two middle teeth finally popped through! It looks like he is going to have a gap between them, which is so adorable! We still have a way to go before the others break out, but we are on our way. I can't believe how many teeth he has already.
Jack absolutely hates peas! We have tried them on three different occasion (twice homemade and once a store bought organic brand) and I feel likes he dislikes them a little more each time. We will not torture him again, I just wanted to give it a few shots before we called it quits. Last night we got a video of him shivering and gagging after each bite. Hilariously adorable, but also sad ;) He gets mangoes for the first time tonight and I have a feeling those will be a big hit!
Sleeping in the crib is going really well! He has been in there for almost a week now and each night is a little better than the last. I miss him like crazy though and check on him often, but he doesn't seem to mind it too much. We are still working on weaning away from the feedings in the middle of the night, but we are taking baby steps.
He says "mama" :D Right now, it is only when he is upset and wants to be held, but I absolutely love it. It is the cutest thing.

6 months!
I can't believe I am actually sitting here writing Jack's 6 month update. Our little guy is half a year old already?!
Jack had his first road trip this month! I took him with my parents to visit our family up in Canastota, NY. It was an 8+ hour car ride and he was an angel the whole way. He was just happy to have someone in the back seat with him and we played, giggled and napped our way to NY. It was a great trip.

STATS
Height: 28.25 inches (95%)
Weight: 19 lbs, 12 oz (90%)
Clothes: 6-9 month, 9 month
Our baby boy is so BIG and growing like a weed. He is at the top of the charts in all aspects but is perfectly proportional and we love every single roll on that chunky little body of his.
PERSONALITY
Jack is such a chill baby! I feel like we get comments everywhere we go on how calm and sweet he is. We went out to dinner for my birthday and ate on a quiet patio filled with people. Jack was so content watching everyone and playing with his toys, that he barely made a peep. We have noticed that whenever we are somewhere with a lot of activity and stuff to watch, he is pretty quiet and just takes it all in. He is our little observer :) Don't let him fool you though, he has his moments of squealing and babbling just like any other baby and I love love love listening to him go on and on. He is most talkative in the morning, almost like he is so excited to start the day and get to play again. It is precious. He still smiles constantly. He also has the most precious little laugh but he sure does make us work for them!
Feeding lately can get quite interesting if Jack gets distracted by anything. I tend to try and feed him in a quiet area of the house because otherwise he has little interest. He is a nosey little guy and doesn't want to miss a thing! This month we started to introduce solid foods and Jack is a huge fan. Favorites so far include butternut squash, bananas, and sweet potatoes. He doesn't love avocado or sweet peas but we are going to give them another try soon. I have been making all of his food at home rather than buying it pre-made and it is so much fun!
PLAY
Jack loves his jumparoo play center. Bouncing is one of his favorite things, he seriously goes nuts. We only put him in there once or twice a day but he loves every second. We have started to go on more walks lately because Jack loves being outside. Thankfully it hasn't gotten super hot yet so we are enjoying the walks while we can. Jack also loves Sophie the giraffe, his stacking cups, his musical globe and anything else that lights up and plays music. He is also starting to pay lots of attention to the dogs and loves grabbing on them. They are all so sweet and have been so incredible with Jack and let him pull on them constantly.
Jack has been rolling over for a while now. He has been pulling up on all fours and rocking for a few weeks and can roll or squirm his way to all corners of the house! This week he finally seems to have figured out crawling but he doesn't always do it because I think it is easier for him to get around on his belly :) It is so much fun watching him get around. Baby proofing is in full force at our house.
TEETHING
He has had those two bottom teeth since he was 3 months old and is starting to get his top teeth. We can see them through the gums but they seem to be taking forever to break through. Hoping it happens sooner than later because little guy is chewing on everything and can seem uncomfortable at times.
